Comparison of plasma substance P concentration (PSPC) in the blood taken from the jugular and tail vein. PSPC were assessed from the Vena jugularis (jugular vein, BVJ) and the Vena caudalis mediana (tail vein, TV1) of 52 clinically healthy cattle of the German Simmental breed. Samples were taken at 7:45 a.m. and 08:00 a.m. (jugular and tail vein, respectively). Concentrations between BJV and TV1 did differ significantly (p < 0.01). Dotted lines link the PSPC in the blood samples taken from the jugular and tail vein of individual animals
