A total of 88 deaths occurred during the study. Five of these were attributed to non-infectious causes (trauma, mis-mothering and cassava poisoning). East Coast Fever was the main cause of death, followed by haemonchosis and heartwater disease. For 25 deaths, a definitive aetiological cause of death could not be determined.Back to article page
